Shaping the cities and regions of tomorrow
Digital transformation is shaping the cities and regions of the future. Technologies such as urban data platforms (UDP) and urban digital twins (UDZ) offer new opportunities to increase efficiency, sustainability, and quality of life in urban areas. But what exactly do these terms mean, and how can local authorities and businesses benefit from them?
In this webinar, you will learn everything about urban data platforms (UDP), their advantages, and specific application examples such as smart parking. You will learn how urban digital twins (UDZ) are used as a bridge between the digital and real worlds to enable simulations and learning processes without making physical changes, with examples from cities such as Wuppertal and Kaiserslautern. Using practical projects such as the development of a climate-neutral neighborhood (EnStadt: Pfaff) and the digital twin of Wuppertal, we will show how these technologies promote urban development. In addition, regional projects such as Dorf Funk offer valuable insights for rural areas. Other topics include the importance of citizen participation, cross-departmental collaboration, and the role of data sovereignty and competence for successful smart city projects.
