Virtual Engineering

— Digital Twins and Co-Simulation of Embedded Assets

Virtual Engineering supports development processes with the help of digital models, for example by simulating system components and SiL tests, in order to integrate components virtually. Virtual Deployment is used to test software components on the target platform and to check whether, for example, response times are adhered to or whether the response to failure patterns corresponds to the expected behavior. Digital Twins of components such as ECUs, software components, and processes are the building blocks for successful Virtual Engineering.

Simulation of Real Objects

With the help of Digital Twins, we create accurate virtual replicas of physical systems, which enables advanced scenario testing and real-time optimization. These focused efforts drive innovation in key industrial domains and showcase the transformative power of virtual engineering.

LLM-based Configuration of Virtual Testbeds

In order to implement the methodology behind the LLM-based configuration of virtual testbeds, we have developed generative assistance software with open interfaces. This software automates the configuration process by supporting the selection, parameterization, and integration of established simulation models, which form the basis for performing virtual experiments based on holistic and authentic scenarios.

LLM-based Qualification of Software

Software qualification is the process of validating and verifying that a software system meets the requirements and specifications set out for it, ensuring it performs as expected under certain conditions.

Co-simulation and integration of simulation environments

We are at the forefront of delivering tailored solutions to enhance the reliability and effectiveness of co-simulation processes. Our goal is to ensure that heterogeneously coupled simulation models achieve accurate, performant, and efficient outcomes.

Virtual Engineering for Sustainability

By using our latest technology, we can support companies in creating Digital Twins, which enable data collection and process control. They also allow making necessary changes quickly using our Eclipse BaSyx middleware – independent of the manufacturer of the machines and the software.

Satisfied customers speak for us!

Marcus Reutemann, Engineering Manager GNSS & COMS, John Deere GmbH & Co. KG:

“The collaboration with Fraunhofer IESE has enabled us to flexibly and reliably install and evaluate our AI application on a modern test infrastructure. This is a significant milestone for the further development of digital agricultural technologies.”

Shenoy Ganesh, Tech Expert, BOSCH Global Software Technologies:

“We have reduced the duration of release testing by 80% (2 weeks with HiL compared to 2 days with FERAL). We have also accelerated the execution time for component testing by 30% and achieved greater scalability through parallel test execution.”

Martin Meiler, Business Development Manager Safe Systems, CADFEM Germany GmbH:

“FERAL enables efficient validation of ADAS functions modeled with Ansys SCADE through seamless integration with driving simulators such as CARLA. It also allows analysis of the effects of random errors and potential attacks on the implemented ADAS functions through systematic error injection on the CAN bus.”

Dr. Sang-bum Suh, Gründer & CEO, Perseus Co., Ltd.:

“With the verification technology combined with hypervisor software, Perseus can make Linux-mounted high-performance domain controller to satisfy international automotive functional safety standard (ISO 26262).”
