With the Fraunhofer Cluster of Excellence “Cognitive Internet Technologies” (CCIT) the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft is working on central key technologies for the cognitive Industrial Internet with the aim of establishing an infrastructure for an agile, flexible, and competitive industry. To achieve this purpose, the Cluster bundles the competencies of 13 Fraunhofer Institutes from the fields of microelectronics, information and communications technology, and production. Fraunhofer IESE contributes its competencies from more than ten years of research and development in the area of data usage control. In the CCIT, the key technology “MY DATA Control Technologies” developed at Fraunhofer IESE is used for data usage control, which creates the basis for data sovereignty. This enables decentralized and trustworthy data economy.
