From 2016 to 2017, the consortium of the research project ABAKUS explored how to improve the effort and cost estimation of software development projects. The project partners developed a new estimation method and a tool for costing software projects, and evaluated these in a study.
As the research partner, Fraunhofer IESE was responsible for the development of the estimation methodology and the visualization concept as well as for the planning of the evaluation. The target group of this project mainly consisted of small and medium-sized enterprises in the IT industry.
