Can I do my Bachelor’s/Master’s/Diplom thesis at Fraunhofer IESE?

As a matter of principle, yes. To do your Bachelor’s/Master’s/Diplom thesis at Fraunhofer IESE, you must be enrolled in the Department of Computer Science of the University of Kaiserslautern or in a scientific department of another university or university of applied sciences. Theses that are supervised at our institute are fully recognized as examinations by the Study Regulations of the Department of Computer Science of the University of Kaiserslautern.

If you plan to come to us from another department and/or another university or university of applied sciences, please ensure that your thesis will be recognized by your institution, resp. your department.

 

Can I do my project thesis at Fraunhofer IESE?

Can I apply at Fraunhofer IESE for a job as a student research assistant (“HiWi”)? What are the prerequisites for this?

When Fraunhofer IESE offers “Hiwi” positions, you will find the announcements among our job vacancies in the Application Portal.

Applicants for “Student Research Assistant” jobs should be at least in the third semester of their studies at a university or university of applied sciences. Exceptions from this rule can be found in the respective job descriptions. For all HiWi jobs, good German language skills and in some cases also fluent English language skills are the prerequisite for being hired. Please see the respective vacancy announcements for details.

 

Does Fraunhofer IESE also offer internships?

Fraunhofer IESE offers exciting areas of work for interns whose study/apprenticeship regulations require that they do an internship. Preference is given to students studying at a German university or university of applied sciences and to apprentices from specialized IT education centers. If you want to do an internship that is not prescribed by your study or apprenticeship regulations, the maximum duration of such an internship is three months.

If you are interested in doing an internship at Fraunhofer IESE, you should plan to spend at least eight weeks working with us. Please check the respective vacancy announcements for details. When Fraunhofer IESE offers internships, you will find the announcements among our job vacancies in the Application Portal.

The minimum age for applicants is 18 years. We only offer internships for high school students at specific periods of time. As soon as the dates are known, you will find further information on school internships here.
