In the research project PROPHESY, Fraunhofer IESE collaborated with twelve project partners on the easy introduction of predictive maintenance solutions for the creation of new business models.

Industrie 4.0 stakeholders consider predictive maintenance to be the key factor in optimizing the overall effectiveness of plants and creating new business opportunities. However, some constraints currently still hamper these efforts: the fragmentation of the data sets, their lack of integration, as well as low interoperability, cyber-security concerns, and limited use of state-of-the-art analysis methods. PROPHESY (Platform for rapid deployment of self-configuring and optimized predictive maintenance services) aimed at eliminating these obstacles to the introduction of predictive maintenance and thus at enabling innovative business models at the same time.
To support this goal, Fraunhofer IESE detailed the reference architecture from the EU project MANTIS and designed a technology stack for the implementation of interoperability and adaptability.
