Software-Cluster provides insights into the cloud
Karlsruhe, 07. April 2011 – The Software-Cluster, Europe's Silicon Valley, provides insights into the cloud activities of the partners at CLOUDZONE 2011 in Karlsruhe on 7 and 8 April 2011. The Cloud Computing fair presents the newest industry developments and provides an opportunity for workshops and discussions with experts. As an important location of the Software-Cluster, Karlsruhe offers ideal conditions for this fair.
At CLOUDZONE fair on 7 and 8 April in Karlsruhe numerous partners of the Software Cluster such as 1&1 Internet AG, CAS Software AG, Cyberforum e.V., FZI Forschungszentrum Informatik, SAP AG or Software AG present their cloud applications for companies. This new format of the fair is particularly suited for medium-sized enterprises to gain information about the trend topic Cloud Computing.
At its booth the Software-Cluster informs about current examples of cloud applications and research projects of partners in the Software-Cluster. For example, Karlsruhe Institute for Technology (KIT) together with SEEBURGER AG present the project for SMEs "B2B in the Cloud" from the Theseus research programme. The Fraunhofer Institute for Experimental Software Engineering (Fraunhofer IESE) conducts a survey at the booth among the visitors of the fair on the use of cloud applications. A panel discussion in the context of the so-called "Marketplace of Ideas" within the fair on April 7th, 2011, at 11am brings together the following partners of the Software-Cluster: CAS Software AG, SEEBURGER AG, Software AG and Cyberforum e.V. Martin Hubschneider, Managing Director of CAS Software AG, states: "The CAS Software AG maintains relationships – and that not only with our products and services in the area of CRM and xMR. As a company we support Karlsruhe as an important region for innovation and we cooperate with strategic partners from business and academia in the Software-Cluster. The CLOUDZONE is an ideal new format in order to show the results of this cooperation – and to form new cooperations at the same time." David Hermanns, Managing Director of Cyberforum e.V., also emphasizes the importance of the region: "Karlsruhe is a substantial pillar of the Software-Cluster in the South West of Germany. With the Trendkongress and CLOUDZONE we create a new first rank communication platform, which is once more proof for the IT competence in this area and which offers to SMEs an early introduction into the substantial topic of the future - Cloud Computing." In the Software-Cluster region the hightech entrepreneur network Cyberforum e.V. is the coordination office for Karlsruhe and Nord-Baden.
In the context of the 3rd Trendkongress Net Economy which takes place on April 8 parallel to the CLOUDZONE fair, leading members of the Software-Cluster give keynotes on the topic of the congress, "Business IT as a Service", including Prof. Dr. August-Wilhelm Scheer (Scheer Management Group), Prof. Dr. Dieter Rombach (Fraunhofer IESE), Karl-Heinz Streibich (Software AG) and Prof. Dr. Jörn Müller-Quade (FZI Forschungszentrum Informatik).
The Software-Cluster is the European Silicon Valley around the centers of software development Darmstadt, Karlsruhe, Kaiserslautern, Saarbrücken and Walldorf. Software innovations for the digital enterprise of tomorrow in all industries worldwide will be developed and investigated in the Software-Cluster until 2015. For this reason in 2011 the Cluster was distinguished by the Federal Government in the "Leading-Edge Cluster competition".
