  • Market Analysis of BPM Suites

    Together with the SP Consulting GmbH from Ludwigshafen, the Fraunhofer Institute for Experimental Software Engineering IESE has conducted a market analysis on the topic of “BPM SUITES”. The results were presented in the context of a final event at the Fraunhofer Center in Kaiserslautern on 10 December 2013.

  • “Made in Germany – Made in India – The revolution in information technology and its social and cultural influences on Kaiserslautern and Trivandrum” is the motto of a joint project of the Hohenstaufen-Gymnasium Kaiserslautern (HSG) and the Christ Nagar School in Trivandrum, India. The project is performed in the context of the “German-Indian Classroom”, an initiative developed by the Robert Bosch Foundation that already takes place for the third time this year. The Fraunhofer Institute for Experimental Software Engineering IESE in Kaiserslautern and the Working Group KL•CONNECT Women took this opportunity to invite the students of the India afterschool club of the HSG to a workshop on 09 December 2013, where they received information about the various areas of work in the IT industry and were shown how exciting and diverse this profession is.

  • With the Soccer World Cup 2014 and the Olympic Summer Games 2016, Brazil will be hosting two major events. In addition to the infrastructure organization of such huge events, the safety of the visitors, in particular, is a central issue for the officials in charge, which is why the project “RESCUER” was initiated. With the help of intelligent information technology, an effective and efficient emergency and crisis management system shall be developed to ensure that the people visiting such major events will feel safe. The German project partners include the Fraunhofer Institute for Experimental Software Engineering IESE and the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) in Kaiserslautern.

  • The Gesellschaft für Informatik e.V. (GI; German Informatics Society) has elected Prof. Dr.-Ing. Peter Liggesmeyer, institute director at the Fraunhofer Institute for Experimental Software Engineering IESE and professor at the University of Kaiserslautern, as the new GI president for the next two years. Starting from 1 January 2014, he will thus head the largest professional organization for computer science in the German-speaking world, with approximately 20,000 members.

  • With its numerous collaborations with small and medium-sized enterprises from the region, the Fraunhofer Center Kaiserslautern has been contributing to the stability of these enterprises on the global market and to their continual competitiveness. This commitment was rewarded with the 2013 Award for Start-Up Supporters, which was presented at the Fruchthalle in Kaiserslautern on 25 September.

  • Exciting and eventful days lie behind the finalists of the 31st German National Computer Science Competition, which is being held for the first time in its history in Rhineland-Palatinate. Today, Germany‘s five greatest computer science talents received their awards as the winners of the National Computer Science Competition. The ceremony at the Fraunhofer Center in Kaiserslautern was attended by national, regional, and city representatives as well as the winners’ teachers and parents. One talent from the Palatinate even won twice.

  • On Wednesday, 07 August 2013, Minister President Malu Dreyer visited the city of Kaiserslautern and also paid a visit to the Fraunhofer Institute for Experimental Software Engineering IESE. Here, she showed great interest in the current research projects and flagship projects, and was delighted to learn that the city of Kaiserslautern has successfully evolved into a flourishing technology hub.
