Virtual Expert Symposium: “Testing & Certification of AI Systems”

In the virtual expert symposium of the project “ExamAI – KI Testing & Auditing”, the central project results will be presented and recommendations for political action will be provided.

Technologies associated with Artificial Intelligence (AI) are increasingly gaining ground: HR and talent management use AI-based suggestion systems and personality assessments, intelligent cobots are used in production, and driverless transport systems provide logistical support in factories. Questions about the reliability, trustworthiness, security & safety, and fairness of such systems are also subject of political discussions.

The question of meaningful testing and auditing procedures for Artificial Intelligence (AI) has taken on new urgency with the publication of the EU Commission’s AI regulation proposal in April 2021. Effective regulation can contribute to providing legal certainty for manufacturers and users of AI systems. But first, testing and auditing procedures for AI must also be tested in practice so that they can then be adapted to the needs of the various stakeholders and become standardized.

In the context of this expert symposium of the project “ExamAI – KI Testing & Auditing” on behalf of the AI Observatory of the German Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, central project results and recommendations for political action will be presented and discussed with representatives from research, trade unions, industry, and society.
