Reference projects of Fraunhofer IESE

In the European sustainability project “EcoMobility”, Fraunhofer IESE is conducting research together with project partners from nine different countries on smart mobility solutions for sustainable road traffic of the future.

Reference Project DEMETER: In the publicly funded Smart Farming EU project DEMETER, Fraunhofer IESE and its project partners are striving to develop and implement innovative solutions for agriculture based on technologies such as Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cloud Computing, and Big Data Analytics. Overall, Fraunhofer IESE’s developments in the DEMETER project contribute to ensuring that the data collected in agriculture is reliable and accurate, which in turn leads to informed decisions and enables more efficient and sustainable agriculture. With the tools we have developed for data quality assessment and driving behavior analysis, we can not only assess the quality of structured data, optimize fuel consumption, and reduce vehicle wear and tear, but these tools can also be used for predictive maintenance.

In the publicly funded project “DynaSoS”, Fraunhofer IESE conducted research on new systems and software engineering approaches for dynamic systems in order to address the complex interactions of the digitalized world, especially with regard to technology, humans, and the environment.

In the project AgriDataSpace, which is funded by the European Union, Fraunhofer IESE is working together with project partners from 10 countries to create a European framework for a secure and trustworthy data space in agriculture.

The project X-KIT (Gaia-X and AI Projects: Transfer & Networking) is about networking and transfer in the area of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in agriculture, food, food chain, rural areas, and Gaia-X in the domain of agriculture.

In this project, which is funded by the German Federal Environmental Agency, Fraunhofer IESE and its project partners are conducting research on how digitalization can simultaneously strengthen environmental protection and support the development of rural areas.

In the project “EnStadt:Pfaff”, Fraunhofer IESE and its project partners are jointly developing a real-life laboratory for the implementation of a climate-neutral residential, commercial, and technology district.

Reference Project DESIGNETZ: In the research project DESIGNETZ, Fraunhofer IESE contributed to increasing the share of renewable energies in electricity consumption and to creating an intelligent energy supply of the future in the long term.

Reference Project John Deere: Fraunhofer IESE, in collaboration with John Deere, has looked at and used the development of systematic control of software diversity.
